WHAT NOT TO DO!
There are many ways for you to create your Renaissance Faire project and do it well. Each will take a great deal of effort and time on your part. This is something you must get started on early and do enough research to be certain that you are creating a project that will "look" like it belongs in the English Renaissance period.
Many students have not put forth either the effort or failed to do proper research to ensure success on this assignment. Below are three examples of projects that did not earn credit. Be certain that your project does not end up in this Hall of Shame.

This "house" is simply four carton boxes taped shut with plain brown tape. the boxes were crudely painted white and then a "door was painted on three of the boxes. Note that the door does not even match in size on the three boxes and that the excess of brown tape can be seen around the door on the bottom box and on the sides of the top box. Clearly this individual did not do any rersearch to find out what a Renaissance house should look like. Nor did this individual put any care or effort into the construction of the project. This project was not allowed to be displayed at the fair. |

This renaissance house is just a large carton box which has been tipped onto its side. The box was then smeared with two colors of paint and then a door was cut into the right hand half of the box. No one seemed to know why the dark brown spot appears on the left hand edge of the box. The entire project was less than 4 feet high. This project was not allowed to be displayed at the fair. |

This project was made with a carton box. There is no back to the project (which is not required by the building code) and the sides were not braced, so the entire building had a tendency to fall inward on itself. The box was painted white and a very dark brown door and window were added. Notethat the door does not have straight side indicating that the student has never heard of a ruler. The window on the right side is likewise not square. This project received a failing grade as the student clearly did not do any research into what a renaissance house should look like and little care was taken in its construction. |
